Illustrations of Good Practice
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Post-school Transition Programs
The following series of six Illustrations of Good Practice videos and nine written case studies highlight the key features of programs supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander secondary students successfully transition to post-school destinations. The resources show case high quality VET, vocational learning and career education programs from schools in metropolitan, regional and remote locations across Australia.
The case studies reflect the five themes identified in CIRCA’s report National Priorities: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Secondary Students Transitions Project: Context; flexibility; two-way learning and community engagement; aspiration, self-esteem and belonging, and real-world job pathways. These key themes underpin programs supporting Indigenous young people to engage in their learning at school and consider career pathway options available beyond school.
The Illustrations of Good Practice were developed by Education Services Australia on behalf of the Australian Government.
